Lying up
I painted this picture after visiting a derelict homestead at Duck Lagoon on Kangaroo Island, South Australia. Inspiration came from the rusting equipment scattered around the area, most of which had been used for distilling eucalyptus oil.I included one of the multitude of Kangaroos that inhabit the island lying up in the heat of the midday sun.The magnificent Crimson rosellas in the tree add a splash of colour.
