I specialise in large watercolour paintings depicting birds in landscape. These are inspired by observation and field sketches and the picture is developed through a free drawing process in the studio which is then refined to the finished work using all available reference for accuracy and detail.

I travel widely and always have a sketchbook and camera at the ready to capture the events that will form the heart of a new picture. My art covers a wide variety of subject matter from general landscape and wildlife through to animal portraiture. Watercolour is my favourite medium for its softness and subtlety but I also work in acrylic, oil and pencil.
I take commissions on all subjects and enjoy painting the landscape and characters around home. A lifelong passion for the natural history world underlies all my work. My paintings can be viewed at the Lyttelton House Gallery, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, Stables Fine Art, Brimstage, Wirral and the Heron Gallery,Drove Rd., Weston-super - Mare and also at my gallery/studio in Crowle. I am a member of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and the Wildlife Art Society International.
